Why Calibrate?

In as little as four to six weeks, sensors may drift as much as <2% to <5%. This is an undeniable fact for most current sensor technologies. Regular pre-use bump tests will provide addtional confidence in your instruments accuracy.

Calibration: Portable Gas Monitors

Regular calibration of gas detection equipment is vital to maintain its accuracy and effectiveness. The requirement from most manufacturers is to calibrate instruments at least every six months. Standards and regulations typically refer users to follow manufacturers recommended intervals for calibration. MSS is officially appointed as an MSA Safety Service Agent.

Frequency

Most manufacturer's recommend calibrating instruments at least every six months. Most manufacturers instructions for use (IFU's) require a 'bump' or 'function test' to be completed daily before use. Instruments that fail a bump test generally will need to be recalibrated, even if the defined period has not expired.
