Units of Competence: MSMPER205, MSMWHS217 and includes the pre-requisite MSMPER200
This course covers Confined Space Definition, Legislation, Standards & Code Of Practice, Hazards, Risk Assessment, Control Measures, Roles and Responsibilties, Gas Testing & Ventilation Techniques, Safety Equipment including safety harnesses, Gas Monitors, Access Equipment. It also covers Safe Working Methods & Permit.
The course includes extensive practicals including side entry and vertical entry and an introduction to Emergency & Rescue Planning.
WHS regulation 76 requires relevant workers to be provided with information, training and instruction, and that retraining or refresher training should be provided as appropriate. The frequency of this training s based on how often workers are required to carry out tasks associated with entry to or work in confined spaces. A record of training MUST be kept for at least two years (WHS Regulation 76.2).
Employers, work sites and insurers may require training to be less than two years old.
